Roots Blower

Development of a compact roots blower for use as a hydrogen recirculation pump in fuel cell applications. Three different rotor profiles, a direct-drive motor and a belt-drive motor were tested to evaluate performance. Potential updated concept using high speed motor and die cast components shown at the end.
